Our Staff
Narelle Gray, Lead Nurse. Narelle is
responsible for nursing care in the clinic and has worked here
since 1991. Narelle completed the Foundation in
Travel Medicine in 2002 and the Diploma in Travel Medicine in
2006. She also has a certificate in Tropical Nursing.
Vida Spaine, Travel Nurse Advisor. Vida has
worked in the Travel Clinic since 2001, completing the
Foundation in Travel Medicine in 2003 and the Diploma in
Travel Medicine in 2007. She also has a certificate in Tropical
Nursing.
Rachel Press, Travel Nurse Advisor. Rachel
started working in the clinic in February 2005. Rachel completed
the Foundation course in Travel Medicine in March 2007.
She has previously worked in a variety of clinical settings in both
the NHS and private health care.
Jane Rowles, Travel Nurse Advisor. Jane started
working in the travel clinic in 2006, having previously worked in
Accident & Emergency. Jane completed the Foundation course in
Travel Medicine in March 2007. Jane is the clinic's lead
on emergency care and cold chain policy.
Joanne Hancock, Travel Nurse Advisor. Joanne
started work in the Travel Clinic in September
2007. She spent 2 years working on cruise ships as a nurse and has
previously worked in A&E and Orthopaedics. Joanne
completed the Foundation course in Travel Medicine in October
2008.
Lesley Hands, Travel Nurse Advisor. Lesley
started work in the Travel Clinic in September 2007. has
previously workied in sexual health, and in a wide variety of
clinical settings both NHS and private care. She has a diploma in
tropical diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine, and has completed the Foundation course in travel
medicine in 2008.
Jo Herrold, Travel Nurse Advisor. Jo started
here in May 2008. She is a qualified Practice Nurse and previously
worked as a travel advisor in Cambridge. Jo completed the
Foundation in Travel Medicine course in 2009. She is from New
Zealand, is a keen traveller and has visited South East Asia, Peru
and Borneo.
Kathryn Nott, Travel Nurse Advisor. Kathryn
started work for Well Travelled Clinics in 2011. She has
previously worked in MAU, A&E and GP Practice. Kathryn
Completed the Travel & Expedition Medicine course at LSTM in
2010
Sheila Donegan, Business Administrator. Sheila
has worked for the Travel Clinic since 2001 and previously worked
for Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She has overall
responsibility for the company's information, communication and IT
systems and is the company's information governance lead.
Sheila also has responsibility for the company's business
administration systems.
Sarah Marsden, Clinical Secretary. Sarah is the
secretary responsible for the general administration of the NHS
post-travel clinics and the diagnostic laboratory. She joined
Well Travelled clinics in November 2007, having previously worked
in a financial institution as a secretary/clerk.
Jayne Nolan, Clinic Receptionist. Jayne is the
person who welcomes you when you arrive at the clinic. She
started working at Well Travelled Clinics in March 2008. She
previously worked in retail and then as a clinic receptionist in
the NHS.
Jenny Danher, Clinic Receptionist. Jenny joined
WTC in July 2009 having previously worked for a local radio
station. Jenny is one of the people who will welcome you in our
Liverpool branch.
Liz Smith, Clinic Receptionist. Liz joined
WTC in 2011. Liz is one of the people who will welcome you in
our Chester branch. Liz previously worked for the Governors of
a local Further Education College with additional responsibility
for safeguarding of data.
Philippa Tubb, Managing Director. Phil joined
the company as Managing Director in August 2007. She is a
registered nurse with a clinical background in Tropical Diseases
and HIV, and has an MA in Health Education and Health Promotion.
Phil has a varied career history including working in emergency
refugee healthcare in Sudan, Burundi and Rwanda and more recently
as a senior manager in the NHS, specialising in the fields of
clinical governance, risk management, quality and audit. In
addition to her role in WTC, Phil was appointed as a Non-executive
Director of Five Boroughs NHS Foundation Trust in May 2011.
Professor David Lalloo, Clinical Director:
David is Clinical Director of the Tropical Medicine Directorate and
a Reader at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He is
also an Honorary Consultant at the Royal Liverpool University
Hospital. He trained in General Medicine, Infectious Diseases
and Tropical Medicine, spending three years in Papua New Guinea,
then he undertook clinical and laboratory research in Oxford before
moving to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in 1999. Since
then he has focused on clinical trials in the tropics, particularly
in HIV related infections, malaria and envenoming. He currently has
collaborations and studies in a number of countries including
Uganda, Malawi, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Dr Lisa Ford, Medical Advisor. Lisa has worked
at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine since 2000. Prior to
her appointment at the school, she had travelled extensively
including periods of work and research abroad in New Zealand,
Ecuador, Nigeria and the Antarctic. She originally trained as a
General Practitioner and now specialises in travel health, working
as the medical adviser and clinical lecturer in travel medicine for
the clinic and a clinical advisor for the National Travel Health
Network and Centre (NaTHNaC). She has a Diploma in Tropical
Medicine and Hygiene and an MSc in Tropical Medicine and an MSc in
Remote Healthcare. Lisa is a fellow of the Faculty of Travel
Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow
and the International Society of Travel Medicine. She is
currently studying for her Diploma in Occupational Health.
Dr Adrian Rogers, Clinical Assistant. Adrian is
a GP with a special interest in travel health. He has a
Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene along with a Diploma in
Occupational Medicine. He has also gained a Masters Degree in
Travel Health and Medicine and is a member of the International
Society of Travel Medicine. He joined Well Travelled Clinics
in June 2008 and hopes to apply his knowledge to advise patients in
their interesting and varied travel itineraries.
