Quality
Well Travelled Clinics prides itself on the quality of our
travel health services. We are world-leading specialists in
tropical medicine and travel health and our staff have expert
knowledge in preparing people for overseas travel.
All our clinical staff go through a comprehensive in-house
training programme, which includes competency based assessment and
a written examination.
The travel clinic works closely with staff at the Infectious
Diseases Unit at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University
Hospitals NHS Trust (RLBUHT). All our doctors who work in the
clinic also have honorary contracts with the RLUBHT.
All our clinical guidelines related to the vaccines and
medicines issued by the clinic, are developed and approved in
conjunction with the medicines management committee of the
RLUBHT.
Because of our unique links to the NHS, Well Travelled Clinic
does not have to register separately with the Healthcare
Commission, this is because our quality standards are tested and
measured by RLBUHT and we are included in any inspections carried
out on the infectious diseases unit.
We follow many of the Royal Liverpool's policies and procedures,
including their policies for incident reporting and infection
control. Senior Management from the Infectious Diseases unit also
carry out an annual risk assessment of the travel clinic at the
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
The advice given at Well Travelled Clinics is based on
country-specific information from the National Travel Health
Network and Centre, (NaTHNaC). NaTHNaC is funded by the Department
of Health to promote clinical standards in travel medicine, NaTHNaC
works in partnership with the Health Protection Agency, the
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, the London School of Hygiene
and Tropical Medicine and the Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
