Rabies pre exposure vaccines are recommended for individuals who regularly handle bats in England. 

 

In England, free rabies pre-exposure vaccines are available for individuals who regularly handle bats and do not have any identifiable employer. This can be obtained via their GP who can complete the online assessment form https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rabies-pre-exposure-request-form

 

All other individuals either at occupational risk including those self employed should obtain it via their employers based on their specific role and responsibilities and pay privately.
